When I first found out I was pregnant, I felt the need to read read read. I ordered a few books from Amazon (Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy, Nutrition for Pregnancy, and a name book too). Chrissy also gave me the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy which is by far much more interesting and “real” than anything I picked out. But I quickly found out that there is such a thing as Too Much Information and I haven’t touched any of those books (other than to confirm the latest pregnancy side effect was perfectly normal) in a couple of weeks. On Friday, Randy and I received an unexpected package from my Step-mom. Donna sent us the Little Big Book of Pregnancy. What a refreshing change! Like the other books, it has practical information but it also contains a lot of literary excerpts, poems, and pregnancy traditions from around the world. Finally, a book that doesn’t pile on the worry factor. Mind candy for the Information Overloaded. And it has all old illustrations that make you feel like you are back in a simpler, more innocent era. So if you know of someone who just found out they are pregnant and want to pick them up a little something, I highly recommend this book. Click here to see a random page of the book, compliments of Amazon.
OK – the next post will have nothing to do with pregnancy. Promise.

It gets boring after a while reading all these books, doesn’t it? I have tons here sent to me from people all over Japan and seriously? I pretty much have left them to the side…although now I have plenty of time to read! LOL
You may want to consider audiobooks for your children. When your children won’t sleep, audiobooks might help them. Check out this site http://astore.amazon.com/listentoaudiobook-20
